Mobile Video Devices Releases First Truly Portable Capture Device Certified for Accordent Technologies Rich Media Creation Products
Ultra-Portable Device Fits in Overhead Compartment for Webcasting On-the-Go

San Jose, Calif., (October 31, 2006) – Mobile Video Devices, Inc. – a manufacturer of mobile video encoding solutions – today announced a new, two-pound device that integrates with Accordent Technologies media creation software to deliver the industry's first laptop webcasting solution. Designed to work with Accordent's award-winning Capture Station™ software, the MVD for Accordent™ enables communicators to deliver rich media webcasts – including video, audio and RGB screen capture – from a laptop computer.

The MVD for Accordent is the first mobile video device that processes the capture of rich media synchronized presentations – including video capture and RGB screen capture – on standard PC laptop computers. The small, compact MVD for Accordent connects directly to a client's notebook. It enables users to capture audio and video to a local host or to stream content remotely to formats such as Windows and Real Media.

“This is the latest innovation from Mobile Video Devices, which has been a leader in developing mobile encoding solutions that enable sophisticated, high-quality media streaming from standard computer hardware,” said Darryl Spangler, president and founder of Mobile Video Devices. “This offering pairs the industry's best hardware with the award-winning Accordent Capture Station software to deliver a best-of-breed solution for organizations of virtually any size.”

“We are delighted to see industry innovators such as Mobile Video Devices design products exclusively for Accordent Capture Station software,” said Jereme Pitts, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Accordent Technologies. “We forged this partnership to respond to growing demand from our customers for a solution that would enable clients to extend their rich media communications while on the road – whether keynoting at an industry event, visiting overseas personnel or guest lecturing at a sister university,” he said.

The new, ultra-light solution showcases the versatility of Accordent's award-winning capture technology, which is also available as an IBM Lenovo-based appliance for room-based capture; a rugged briefcase unit for room-to-room capture; and as a rack mounted solution - available from a variety of server manufacturers, to enable centralized, shared presentation capture across the organization or campus.

The Accordent Rich Media Communications Suite is the only automated, end-to-end infrastructure for creating, distributing, managing and measuring the effectiveness of multimedia presentation assets. In addition to the Accordent Capture Station™, the company's rich media creation products include its flagship PresenterPRO Enterprise Edition™, a workstation-based solution used by organizations to capture and publish live and on-demand multimedia presentations that include interactive features such as polling, survey and moderated Q&A, and Accordent PresenterPLUS™ professional-caliber Accordent presentation editing tool. Accordent Rich Media Management System and Modules give organizations unparalleled ability to manage, search and control their Accordent rich media assets – from user authentication to certification, database integration and enhanced reporting.
